- Protein: at least 38%
- Fiber: no more than 20%
- Fat: no more than 10%
A high-quality product should be free from any foreign odors, moldy taste, or bitterness. Pay attention to the color: sunflower meal obtained through cold pressing technology should be dark grey, not black. The darker the product, the higher the temperatures the sunflower seeds were exposed to during processing, which means that a greater portion of the beneficial microelements and vitamins may have been destroyed.
Proper storage of sunflower meal is also crucial. The best storage location is a dry, well-ventilated space. Avoid moisture, as it can lead to rapid spoilage. If purchasing sunflower meal in bulk, ensure the product is periodically moved for proper air circulation. When storing in bags, place them in a way that allows air circulation between them.
